Our approach · The Panchakosha lens
A child is not a collection of subjects. A child is a whole human being.
The Panchakosha, described in the Taittiriya Upanishad, sees a human being as five interconnected layers. We use it as a lens to design learning that nurtures all of them together — not as five more subjects on the timetable.
Panchakosha is an ancient philosophical framework; its application to early childhood education is Growth Gurukul's contemporary educational interpretation.

What changes when we see the whole child.
The monthly sets make planning easier for our teachers. We can sit together and see what is coming up, what we need to prepare and where a class needs more time. It has helped us get a little more organised.
What I liked was that the teachers felt comfortable talking. A few who usually say very little in a training session opened up during the reflections. We stayed back afterwards and talked about how to make space for these conversations in school.
I had saved so many ideas for teaching her about India, but never really got around to doing them. Having a letter and a few things ready to print helps. We do a little on weekends. I read the Parent Wisdom pages myself after she's gone to bed.

Working at the intersection of Panchakosha, Indian Knowledge Systems and Education
For Suprabha Jha, education has never been only about what a child learns. At its deepest, it is about who the child is becoming.
For nearly two decades, she has worked across curriculum development, publishing, teacher development, school leadership and educational innovation. A Visharad in Indian Classical Music (Mohan Veena) from Pracheen Kala Kendra and a trained Yoga and Mudra practitioner, she brings years of riyaaz and sadhana, and a continuing study of Indian Knowledge Systems and the Panchakosha, into her understanding of how human beings learn, develop and flourish.
She is also the founder of Three Dimensions Learning Centre, Uttar Pradesh's first Panchakosha-based preschool, where these ideas are brought into everyday educational practice.

Will academics become weaker?
No. Strong foundations in language, early literacy and numeracy stay at the heart of Kosha Vidya. Every class from Nursery to UKG has 10 monthly FLN books in English, Hindi and Maths. Whole-child development means these grow alongside movement, regulation, curiosity and confidence, without premature pressure.
Is this a religious programme?
Growth Gurukul is an education organisation. We draw on Bharatiya knowledge traditions, including the Panchakosha from the Taittiriya Upanishad, as an educational and cultural lens. The aim is understanding, not conversion, and children of every background are welcome.
Will it add to my teachers' workload?
It shouldn't. The kit is classroom-ready, and implementation training prepares teachers to use it with clarity. We design out unnecessary preparation and paperwork. The goal is better observation, not more documentation.
Can we use Kosha Shiksha without Kosha Vidya?
Yes. Kosha Shiksha is a separate programme focused on teacher transformation and wellbeing, and it works for educators in any school or curriculum. Kosha Vidya schools also receive their own implementation training.
Does Kosha Vidya suit an existing preschool?
Yes. We look at your current setup, calendar and teachers, then plan what stays, what adapts and what changes. A walkthrough is the best way to see the fit.
Is Kosha Home only for families living abroad?
No. It is designed for Indian families everywhere, including in India. Parents don't need prior knowledge, because Parent Wisdom helps you learn alongside your child. Kosha Home is opening to early families now.
